Mealworms are NO JOKE !

Recommended Posts

We generally do not feed live food to our ants for fear of ant injury ... expecially with young colonies!  But we tried it for the first time with our C. Penn. colony because it is in REALLY healthy shape now with 200ish workers and a TON of brood.  And OMG is a mealworm a challenge even for these big guys.

Great video! I'm not going to lie, I fed a live super worm to a much smaller colony of Tetras and it was quite the challenge. 10/10 very exciting, 1/10 very dangerous and I'll never do it again.

Thanks guys.  We did do a leg and antenna count afterwards and identified no injuries.  Even that "deathneckclamphangonfordearlife" warrior lady was fine.
